John has worked in the optical industry for over 40 years. He began his career manufacturing lenses for a wholesale optical laboratory which supplied Pearle Vision Centers. After a short apprenticeship in retail, John became eligible to take the state board of dispensers exam, known as one of the more difficult optical programs in the country. He became a licensed ophthalmic dispenser in 1984.
