Licensed to practice optometry in New York, New Jersey, Virginia and Florida, Dr. Alan Deyong is highly experienced and passionate about providing only the best eye care to his patients.

Dr. Alan Deyong graduated with his first Bachelor of Science Degree from the City University of New York, Brooklyn College in 1973. He then went on to receive a second Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, as well as a Doctor of Optometry Degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Dr. Deyong's resume is both extensive and impressive. He has been the President and Chief of Staff at The Eye Exam Group in Paramus, NJ since 1998. He is also currently Vice President and clinical consultant to The Eye Exam Group P.A. in Totowa, NJ. Dr. Deyong is also clinical consultant to Omni Eye Services, a specialty ophthalmological practice with four offices in New Jersey. Dr. Deyong is also consultant to major drug manufacturers especially dealing with glaucoma, contact lenses and ocular surface disease. He recently completed two clinical studies on contact lens solutions and one-on-one ocular surface disease.

In 2007 and 2009, Dr. Deyong had the honor of being voted "America's Top Optometrist" by the Consumer's Research Council of America.

To all my patients,

It is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement next year on August 31, 2023. Caring for you, my patients, has been the most rewarding part of my 45 year long career. I have come to know many of my patients and their families as friends, and I am honored that many of you have trusted me to care for two, and even three generations. It has been an extremely rewarding experience to have Deyong’s Eyeworld grow into one of the largest and most respected eyecare practices in the country.

The great news for you, under the ownership of Dr. Amanda Miskewicz-Zastrow and Dr. Alan Zastrow, you will continue to receive the utmost quality and personal care. Dr. Amanda Miskewicz-Zastrow worked as a technician in this practice for many years prior to professional school. Dr. Alan Zastrow has worked full time by my side for the last 8 years. Dr. Alan Zastrow was handpicked for his knowledge and brilliant clinical skills. He already has engaged with many of you. A finer doctor for your needs can not be found anywhere.

With the ill health of my wife I have made this decision to spend more time with her and with my 10 grandchildren. I appreciate the opportunity that you gave me to serve as your eyecare physician. Good luck and stay healthy.
